Songwriter and performer Curt Bessette lives in Maine. After college Curt had grand plans to become a social worker in Providence, RI. At that same time his rock and roll band was booked for the winter at a North Conway, NH ski resort. The music life spoke to Curt...loudly and clearly. Soooo... a choice was made and Curt pursued a long and rewarding career as a working and recording musician.

Curt has performed all over the USA in concerts, clubs, hotels and schools. Curt was a finalist in the song writing competition at the Kerrville (Texas) Folk Festival, the Falcon Ridge (New York) Festival and the Napa Valley (CA) Folk Festival. Curt has released four CDs of his original songs. Known for his engaging stage presence and sense of humor, Curt has been a "regular" on the New England music scene.

Most of Curt's gigs these days are with partner Jenn Kurtz. Jenn is an amazing harmony singer and adds more energy and dynamics to the stage act. Curt is also the guitarist for Kathleen Soldati, the popular jazz, blues and folk vocalist. For many of the concerts, they are joined by the talented Neil Zweig on lead guitar.

In addition to the solo and duo gigs, Curt has created a program called "A Few Seconds with Our Fathers," a tribute to WWII veterans and families, including Curt's father who was also a WWII vet. This show features Curt's original songs about the war years, plus several popular cover songs from that era.

Curt teaches a song writing workshop and as well as being an instructor in Portsmouth for guitar, bass and mandolin.... and he believes Fenway Park is the most sacred place on earth!!!
